Kadant’s stock cleaning systems provide high efficiency removal of contaminants in pulp slurries. Cleaning involves converting pressure into high velocity using specially-designed cyclonic separators. The stock is introduced to the cone tangentially and forced to rotate at high speed resulting in high centrifugal forces that separate the fiber from contaminants based on density and shape differences.

The XCEL 150 is a high-efficiency sand and grit removal system setup in custom banks to optimize fine cleaning. Centrifugal force causes water and heavy debris such as grit, glass, sand, pins, staples, gravel, dirt, metal, abrasives, and other small heavy objects to move to the outer wall and spiral to the bottom of the unit for removal.
The X-Clone cleaner utilizes the through flow principle to remove typical low specific gravity contaminants such as waxes, polystyrene foam, polyethylene, hot melt adhesives, and other light, floatable material from a variety of furnishes.

Periclone hydrocycloning bank systems operate in a wide consistency range and are used for a variety of cleaning purposes, such as paper machine approach flow systems, and chemical pulp systems. These systems are designed to achieve excellent cleaning performance with efficient removal of heavy‐weight contaminants. Optimised design combined with operational reliability result in lower operating costs and minimised energy consumption.
The High Density Cyclone is used for separation of abrasive, heavy-weight impurities such as sand, glass, and metal. Intermittent reject discharge minimizes fiber losses. It can be installed as a complement to other pulp cleaning or screening equipment and/or to protect other rotating equipment. A typical application is in the tail-end of a fine screening system, where hard particles need to be removed efficiently in order to minimize wear on screen baskets and rotors. In an approach flow system, it can be installed as the last stage of a cleaning installation
The PRC is used for separation of heavy-weight and highly abrasive coarse material. Intermittent reject discharge minimizes fiber losses. It can be installed as a complement to other pulp cleaning or screening equipment and/or to protect other rotating equipment. A typical application is in a virgin fiber line or in a bale pulping line, where coarse material needs to be removed efficiently in order to protect downstream equipment.
CLP hydrocyclones and hydrocyclone parts are designed to replace Cleanpac® brand hydrocyclones. The CLP series features the same operating parameters as the OEM hydrocyclones and can easily be installed in the same bank or canister. The STR valve is a severe-duty stainless steel knife gate valve for use with our Liquid Cyclone Cleaner and in other high and medium density cleaning and detrashing systems such as our Hydraflow. Its rugged construction makes quick work of high concentration contaminants such as glass, sand, staples, nuts, bolts, and other hard debris.
The STR reject chamber is a durable cast iron unit that handily contains heavy debris and controls the trouble it can cause. Created specifically for use with our robust STR valves (shown together here as used with our Liquid Cyclone™ cleaners), these durable reject chambers are feature-built for optimized performance, maximized flow, and reduced maintenance.
