The SansGrit efficiently removes contaminants and returns water back to the system process.
The Kadant SansGrit sand and grit separator is a highly efficient dewatering machine designed to concentrate and remove sand, grit, and other contaminants with positive settling characteristics. It is most effective at removing heavy contaminants from secondary fiber reject streams.
The SansGrit separator is fully enclosed with bolted lids on the container and spiral conveyor. An easily opened inspection lid is located near the overflow channel for access. The conveyor trough, equipped with steel wear bars, houses the shaftless spiral screw. The specially designed non corrugated spiral conveyor eliminates the need for bearings and seals below the water level. The drive unit consists of a geared motor directly mounted on the face of the spiral conveyor.
Features & Benefits
Turbulence is virtually eliminated with the design of the inlet, shape of the settling chamber, low conveyor rpm, and operation speed
The arrangement of the overflow trough prevents blockage from floating debris. Showers reduce build-up from forming inside the unit
Access for regular maintenance is simplified by a direct coupled gear-motor drive, integral drive shaft bearings, shaftless spiral screw, bolt-in liner, hanging bearings and seals (located at the top of the drive, not underwater)
